I Heart Faces - Motherhood

Over at I Heart Faces the topic was Motherhood, you know being mother's day weekend and all!

So for mothers day I took my mom and girls to the movies.  Afterward we went to see her mom, my grandma.  Of course I took my camera.  I got some great pictures - this is one of my favorite, it is my mom, and oldest daughter walking toward my grandmothers grave.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes

Seriously what can be better than Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes!!!!!

I told my mom I would make cupcakes for Mothers Day.  I was going to make them from scratch - but then we decided to get together today instead of Sunday.  So I improvised. I had this in the cupboard, and it was perfect, it is a half portion - and makes 12 cupcakes - perfect!  I don't have to eat the leftovers!

Make it as the directions say.

Add some awesome and most necessary chocolate chips.

Make sure you have an adorable helper to stir those chocolate chips in.

So here is what they looked like - they look ok - right.
Wrong - you have to add the best part - my favorite - REESE'S!!!

I went to Walgreens - and I wanted to find the mini Reese's.  They were so expensive. I found the regular ones on sale!  Yippy! So I cut it in 4's.

Then I put one piece in the center.
Push it down into the batter.

Further....

Till it's all covered.

Now they are ready to go into the oven!

Now - for the next part - I took Peanut Butter - about 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup.  Then microwave it.  I heated it up :25 sec stir, and then another :25 sec.

Then pour it over the frosting - I just used regular chocolate frosting.

Then use your beaters - and mix them together.

MMmmm... forget the cupcakes - I'll just eat the frosting.

Baked cupcakes - lookin good!

Then fill a bag with a wide tip.

And decorate!!!!

Then top with some more chopped up Reese's on top and you are good to go!

Then I put them back into the pan to transport to my mom's for mothers day!

I think he likes it!

DIY Bridal Shower Invitations

I just finished my cousins invitations for her bridal shower.  I think they turned out super cute - this picture here is what inspired me from Everyday Lovely:

First I printed the photo's on one sheet - two per each piece of paper.  This is a picture of my cousin and her fiance.  My cousin Jennifer took the photo - great - isn't it!

Then print the invitation part - again - two per sheet.

On the sheet with the invitation part, score straight down at 1 inch - before you cut it into the individual portions.

Then with the score portion at the bottom - cut at 5 inches.

And then keep it at 8 1/2 inches.  Then fold over the scored part.

Then on the front part - where the picture is printed cut at 4 3/4's

By about 7 1/4.

Here are some pictures of the final ones with the measurements.

Then I took my crop-a-dile and punched holes on each side.  I actually did about 3-4 at a time, I am all about saving time!  Then I took this string - I used waxed beading string - I had it on hand.  Worked great.  I wrapped it around a couple of times - and then tied it into a bow - or some just a knot.

Tada!  57 done and mailed! Pretty fast, inexpensive - and personal - don't get much better than that!

I Heart Faces - Soft and Sweet

Another challenge over at I Heart Faces.  This weeks challenge is Soft and Sweet.
Here is my oldest - she insisted we go to the park yesterday - it was a beautiful day.  And - I am happy she did - we got some great pictures.  I am wondering if I will ever go to the park without my camera - not likely.  I will more than likely post some more pictures later this week after I go through them all.  I thought this captured the challenge well - the colors and contrast is very soft - and the expression on her face is very sweet.
